SNCF (French railways) operates a maintenance center in Nevers (France). VEOLIA WATER as operator of the depollution facilities, proposed to define solutions to reach the authorities requirements on effluent discharges.

ECA partner of Veolia Water, has brought its expertise for this preliminary study.

The audit done by ECA has made recommendations to reduce pollution at source and to modelize their impact on discharges.

The study was completed by a processes validation testing (physico-chemical, insolubilization of heavy metals, removal of hard COD, biological).

This service has enabled SNCF to master its pollutant discharges by implementing the recommendations and to meet regulatory requirements by establishing an optimal treatment solution as defined in the study.
